Seasonal Assistant Hotel Accountant

Position Summary: Monitor record reconcile audit and maintain hotel accounting records. Practice proper accounting procedures. Provide accounting and reporting support to all hotels.

Duties:
Balance hotel deposits
Audit hotel postings for accuracy
Post hotel receivable payments
Prepare hotel receivable billings
Resolve customer billing and credit card concerns
Send delinquent accounts to collections
Manage monthly accounts receivables and follow up on past due invoices
Update and maintain balancing spreadsheets; share with management as needed
File documents
Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures local state and federal policies directives rules and regulations and current accounting standards
Act as backup to answer incoming business calls as needed
Assist Sr. Accountant as needed
Other duties as assigned
Education Knowledge and Skills:
Any combination of a 2-year degree and/or 2 years of accounting experience required
Multi-entity accounting experience preferred
Able to learn understand and use multiple computer accounting systems software and hardware and how they interface with one another
Strong skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook) to include import and export of spreadsheet data
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation
Able to analyze information and use logic to address issues
Strong written and oral communication skills to include effectively conveying information to others and giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Able to listen read and understand information provided by supervisors and co-workers
Able to use sound judgment and make appropriate independent decisions
Able to manage time and prioritize work to meet deadlines
Able to perform with sufficient physical ability and mobility to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop bend kneel crouch reach and twist; to lift carry push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of computer keyboard; to travel to other locations; to verbally communicate to exchange information; to see and hear within a reasonable range for an office environment with or without correction.
